the joys of Dartmouth and the South Devon and Cornwall coast.
Owned and run by husband and wife team, Alan & Hilary
Hemsley, both qualified, experienced skippers with over
20 years experience fishing out of Dartmouth. The African
Queen offers a variety of pleasant trips, ranging from 2
hour evening trips, half days, all day to weekly charters.
Try an evening picnic party or a half day fishing trip,
or you may choose to stay aboard in the African Queens homely
accommodation and have a fun cruise along the coast with
friends or family for a few days. Catch a Mackerel or catch
a Shark, see a Dolphin, Seal or a Basking shark, the possibilities
are endless. A trip aboard the African Queen is an ideal
way to explore the beautiful South Coast of Devon and Cornwall.
You can stay on board in simple comfort on our Dickens class
vessel. African Queen was originally built for the Navy
as a general workhorse /supply boat. Built to exacting Naval
standards, with a length of 50 feet and a beam of 15 feet,
she displaces 20 tons, carries 8 tons of ballast and is
powered by two 75hp Foden diesel engines. The African Queen
is licensed to comply with the new Department of Transport
code of practice category 2, 60 miles. We also have a Work
Boat Certificate for any commercial work. She carries full
safety equipment which is inspected by the Marine Coastguard
Agency (MCA) annually. We offer safe and comfortable cruising
for both adults and children. The well equipped wheelhouse
has VHF radio, GPS navigation system, Echo sounder, Radar
and all other necessary equipment for safe, pleasant and
trouble free fishing and cruising along Devon and Cornwall's
South coast.
